Door County's glorious fall season makes Ephraim more appealing than ever. One recent guest especially enjoyed contemplative moments spent sitting on one of the long piers—the perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of the water, the Peninsula State Park sprinkled with brilliant fall colors, and an unobstructed view of Anderson Dock. At the lodgings we notice the softening of the autumn light and the glow of sunsets over Ephraim Harbor. We are enjoying the earthy autumn fragrance of fallen leaves and the homey aromas of apple and pumpkin pies. To celebrate the season, the main Lodgings entrance is decorated with pumpkins and cornstalks. We have rephotographed all of our rooms. New photos are posted on the Rooms & Rates page. Upstairs, the Blossom and Leaf rooms have cheerful new bedding shown in the below. The views from our windows continue to be inspirational. It is still warm enough to sit outside on one of our porches or balconies perhaps with a take-out cup of coffee from the Ephraim Coffee Lab. The Lab's coffee choices are varied—all are equally delicious. Many Ephraim restaurants have closed for the season however our neighbor, the Chef's Hat, is still open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday and Saturday and for breakfast on Sunday. A little further down Hwy. 42, Leroy's Water Street Coffee and Czarnuszka's are open 5 days closed Tuesday and Wednesday. In Bailey's Harbor, The Ridges Sanctuary has intriguing programs on their December calendar: an Evening Sky Hike, a Wreath Making Workshop, a Natural Christmas Program, and several Between-the-Holidays events.
